Value,ethics,morals & etc.

I hope you must have heard words like values, ethics, moral, etc. very often.....if not then try to be there into your manager's cabin or listen a debate between politicians on a leading channel and you will hear a few of them:-) Doesn't it sound all crap when people talk a lot about ethics, moral, values when they themselves owe non of them either...most of us use these words every now and then, without even knowing what they mean....and do anyone really bothers about what ethics, value, etc. are? Firstly do we act in the same manner as we suggest others? why don't we face the truth as it comes and act rationally? why we play the blame game always ?why we look around when we know the answer's are within us? why we say something and do something?
Do we play the roles we have to?do we introspect for the failures? There are too many questions around...and answers if there are any are not at all soothing....
We talk about culture,environment,atmosphere....but do we know iota of it..remember you get what you give..so never expect roses in turn when you are giving out thorns...

well, i don't claim that i am saint, but in the same breath i also don't say i am a sinner. In my belief, values per se don't precede individual existence. I define what is a right & acceptable. I don't have problem with that, what makes me unease is the constant chatter that we are losing our 'values' when the 'values' in the first place were never totally imbibed. We & I mean the Indian society has been brought up in such perilous times (I say perilous because of the randomness in our society in general) that values are the first thing that we throw to the winds & i don't blame anybody for it.The basic human instinct is survival not 'values'. Values come when the individual interacts with the surrounding, the Society as we call it, but this society itself is a heterogeneous set of pulls & pressures that makes sticking out your neck with 'values; downright foolish

Vineet,

We make up the society and the only thing that can cause a change in the society is we induce the change in ourselves! Gandhiji rightly said so" Be the change that you want to see in the world" Yes, people are illogical and judgmental. I, as rational human beings, have a choice. I can either be like them or understand that this is not the right thing to do and be courageous enough to do the right thing! As you rightly pointed, the world is round and what goes around comes around! :D
