Networking

No,am not talking about TCP/IP or some other protocols of networking......am talking abt. the networking which we guy's are doing now a days thru orkut......just adding another profile in our lists and growing our network's....daily visiting a lot of profiles and if anyone found even remotely connected to us then adding him as a friend in order to grow our network.
What a nice way of expanding our circle...??
This doesn't means i don't believe in networking.....in fact, my perception is that it helps a lot if it is both ways...i too know a lot of person whom i have never met and have never seen....but have good bonding with them......being in IT industry means you need to have good PR skills....and now a day's it also matters a lot...today morning only a friend of mine ringed me after a long time ......was standing outside a MNC for a walkin and wants to know whether he can get someone's e-id to get in.....fortunately one of my known-one's was working there.......he thanked me twice for that e-id......well again credit goes to networking.
No doubt..... networking helps a lot.

Intel - Lay offs

Remember, those dot com burst days when there were lay offs everywhere across the IT industry world wide....Yesterday, while I was going thru the business times found a piece of news that Chip giant Intel had already laid off 1,000 managers world wide and its 15,000 employees across the globe are in the firing line...And this planned workforce reduction, including 1,000 already announced, is likely to include a significant chunk from the company's 3,000-strong team in India....Thank! God ...One of my friend working in Intel Banglore has resigned few weeks back and had left for Illinois university to pursue research work......Though I know this brainy would not have been among those miserable few to be sacked.....:-)
Intel huge lay-off plan comes amid a sharp 57 % plunge in it's second-quarter net profit and due to loss of it's market share to it's nearest rival AMD(Advanced Micro Devices)...But what abt. The poor chap's who are now going to be unemployed ??? This is a big question....and this big question is bringing down the pain in the nerves...now a days.
Market is bullish...IT giant's are recruiting like anything ...Other day there was a news that TCS is going to recruit 30,000 employees this financial year.....Not sure Wipro or Infy had already recruited 15,000 last quarter.....But what is going to happen if the Intel story is going to repeat......This is what which leaves me and my roommate haunting.....Whenever there is a news about lay-offs.
Guy's,It's good to be cozy in our shells but there should be some exit plan ready always ???

Suicide! - Is it the right option

After preparing tea for my-self and room-mates in morning just picked up the TOI and was going thru headlines ...suddenly was astonished by a small piece of news that a engineer with a leading bike making company hanged himself to death just b'coz he was transferred to production dept.,couldn't understand why this small change in work made him to end his life.
Every morning same story.... Someone hanged himself from ceiling fan..........Someone jumped from 8th or 9th floor of a building....Don't know why people are ending their precious life like this..

Understand that there are lot's of ups and downs in life but who doesn't have his part of failures..........And if he doesn't have it means he hadn't tasted success as well...afterall who doesn't fail's in life. In fact we should be thankful to failure's bcoz after facing them only we become stronger.

Ending up life is not a solution...........if u want to end up something.....Try to end this very cause which is making you end your life......make this big problem a small one and laugh at it.

In his book "The Greatness Guide" motivational guru-Robin Sharma says if you think you gonna die after 30 days make these 30 days very special...........live these 30 days to the fullest..... i was just wondering why these people give up so easily and starts finding new ways to do suicide........when they have whole life to live.
doesn't makes a point that if you failed in your exams or there is break-up in relationship or you are over-stressed in office so you will stand atop and will jump.

Okay ......Know that ... now you will say ...talk's a lot ......... but this suicide news every morning irritates me a lot.

So keeping my pen down.......:-)

Mumbai Blasts - Mumbaikar's Cries

Well, a lot had been said and told about Mumbai Blasts, i too condemn this heinous crime to the utmost level. Don't know what kind of people are these who don’t think for a while that with the fire they are playing may burn sometimes down the line there own homes. Pak's foreign minister kasuari added fuel to the fire by adding that "this will keep happening until India talk's straight on the Kashmir issue"......These are the people who gives the terrorist a good amount of backing and support....alas! they are not knowing that until the terrorist camps in POK are not closed, pakistan is also going to be wounded by these terrorist groups..

Now come's the famous quotable line from all media person's and political group's about the Spirit of Mumbaikar's - "The people were back to work the very next day after blast".
Come on boss, what the common man is supposed to do.........he has to work else he is no where,he is not having luxury of sitting in plush green offices or homes. He has to fight for his bread & butter and that's why he is back into the local train's/ buses.
This reminds me a line from Mr. A.B.Vajpayee's - Meri Eekavan Kavitaayen:
"Chaattan Ka Hamesha Atal,Aadig,Taatpar khada Rahna ,Chaattan Ki Mahanta Nahi; Majboori Bhi Hooti Haii".

Trying To Write Something On Day One

Okies....here i am. am a software engineer basically from Nainital (a beautiful hill station in Kumaon Region in Uttaranchal).....Listen a lot good olden goldies...am a good bathroom singer, having same interests as other s/w geeks have like socializing thru orkut, chatting on yahoo msgr, forwarding mails albeit of no use, sipping several cups of tea & coffee, and talkin much abt. packages then concentrating on work.
Was thinking for last several weeks of creating my blog page and at last had done this saturday....was really inspired by rahul(good friend of mine).......he is having good hand in writing and his blogs cover varied day to day topics...Well saturday's are something which i wait to do something apart from mundane office work...in my previous organization also initally for a year or so use to go office every weekend due to project requirements but after than it was more of passion then anything else ...just joined the new organization so not having anything to do as such except training..these major tech. companies had one good thing in common they don't overload employess with work from day one...Thank God!...well this is something good on my part.
