Incredible India

There have been an "incredible India" campaign (http://www.incredibleindia.org/) going on for quite some time by department of tourism-govt. of India. We say we are world class,we are growing,we are self-reliant,but are we really this way......i think we are yet lagging behind.....i had two different experience. First, while at IGI,Delhi there was total chaos...long queues at the immigration counter..i was standing for 3 long hours to get immigration clearance...while on board to Zurich i had a company of US citizen(broad),who asked me a question and i was on my feet's...i was just unable to defend my country..yup!..."Is this what you are proud of..with what we just saw at the airport....it was pathetic to be there in the queue for such long and to see that the VIP's are just getting a green signal without even proper checking..you know you people are behind due to these nasty politicians, the deep-rooted corruption, improper infrastructure, etc." I agree and I've seen all this happening back in home....Second,while on board to Boston from Zurich i had a fellow passenger(Addy)who after having some conversation asked me "How you are having such a good command in english?" Do you people have good infrastucture, schools, colleges there?
I pondered for a moment then told him about the kind of schools/colleges/professionals institutes we are having back in India...But the bigger question was the notion, perception people here in east are still having about India.
Today i saw a report on www.ibnlive.com about how government is compromising on quality of shoes..our soldiers wear at the highest battlefield(siachin),another report...an army brigadiar was sending drums filled with water instead of Petrol/Diesel to the army posts..another report..an ibn-live reporter made his ration-card/pan-card/voting-card/driving license/passport...yes all of them without showing any papers and by just paying bribe..and if you go with all the genuine papers the same clerk refuses...whats all this? Is india really incredible? any answers?
